Trip to Tennessee

22nd – 31st October 2017

Monday, 22nd October

– We travel from Dublin to Atlanta direct. On arrival in Atlanta we are met by our driver, who will accompany us for the duration of the tour, and we are transferred by coach to Gatlinburg in East Tennessee. Overnight: Edgewater (or similar)

Tuesday, 23rd October

– Gatlinburg is located at the heart of the Smoky Mountains and this morning our tour guide will take us on a tour of the Smoky Mountains including a drive over the mountains to Cherokee, North Carolina for a brief stop. We will spend the afternoon in Dollywood, the theme park owned by Ms Dolly Parton! Overnight: Edgewater (or similar)

Wednesday, 24th October

– This morning we will depart early and head to Nashville where upon arrival we will have a step on tour guide to show us the sights and view some of the Stars homes in the Nashville area. In the evening attend the Cowboy Church service. Overnight: The Inn at Opryland (or similar)

Thursday, 25th October

– Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and RCA Studio B in the morning, followed by a self guided tour of the Ryman Auditorium (which is the original home of the Grand Ole Opry and standing on the famous stage you will almost feel the ghosts of the legends who sang there many years ago) and on to the Johnny Cash Museum. This evening we will attend a performance at the famous Grand Ole Opry. Overnight: The Inn at Opryland (or similar)

Friday, 26th October

– This afternoon we will be cruising down the Cumberland River on the General Jackson Showboat, which will include a delicious buffet lunch and entertainment for 2½ hours. Afterwards, we will hit the shops at the Opry Mills Mall and visit the brand new Madame Tussauds which is just newly opened in Nashville. Overnight: The Inn at Opryland (or similar)

Saturday, 27th October

– Today we will visit the graves of some of our much loved country stars including George Jones and Johnny Cash. We will also visit George Jones museum which has recently opened in Nashville. Overnight: The Inn at Opryland (or similar)

Sunday, 28th October

– We leave Nashville this morning and head for Memphis. En route we will stop and tour Loretta Lynn’s Ranch & Museum. Stop at Casey Jones Village for a spot of lunch (not included) at the Old country Store. Arrive Memphis and check into our hotel with a free evening to explore. Overnight: Comfort Inn Downtown (or similar)

Monday, 29th October

– Today, we will visit Graceland, the home of the late great Elvis Presley. We will tour the house, museum, Lisa Marie’s plane and of course Elvis’ Grave. This afternoon, we will tour Sun Studios where Elvis and many other Country and Rock legends recorded. Last but not least we will have a chance to stroll down Beale Street.. Overnight: Comfort Inn Downtown (or similar)

Tuesday, 30th October

– After a fun filled sightseeing tour of Tennessee, we check out of our hotel and head for the airport and our flight back to Ireland.

– Arrive back into Dublin this morning…
